A healthy digestive system is the basic yet most important part of our daily life. A healthy gut keeps your well nourished and happy. The results of a healthy and happy gut can be seen on your skin, mind and body as the food we take is properly absorbed and utilized. Few signs of a healthy gut are glowing skin, pain free poop, no bloating, no gas problems, no acidity or problem digesting food and abdominal pain which makes your life easy and helps you sleep better.

You can have a healthy gut by just maintaining a healthy diet containing moderate amount of fiber and probiotics, probiotics can be obtained from yogurt and fiber from fruits and vegetables, diet is the most important part of factors that influence gut health

The other factors apart from diet are

1.Infections — infections are caused by invasion of other harmful bacteria which leads to inflammation and stomach pain or abdominal pain they can out grow and can also effect your whole body in the form of dehydration (vomiting and lose stools).

2.Stress — physiological stress can negatively effect gut motility GI secretion and intestinal permeability which alter gut health negatively resulting in mood changes and insomnia.

3.Age — microbial diversity starts increasing from early childhood and stabilizes till 3 years of age and starts declining from 70 years of age leading to weak immune system and digestive problems the body becomes malnourished resulting number of other health issues.

4.Medication — certain medications alter the gut bacteria composition leading to increase or decrease in gut microbial growth.

5.Smoking or alcohol consumption — smoking is directly linked to changes in gut microbes and so does alcohol consumption it is clearly evident in the tests made by scientists before and after consuming alcohol or smoking but more evidences are yet to be found to validate the impact.

6.Physical activity — exercise or daily physical activity is associated with increased diversity and abundance of gut bacteria and boosts production of beneficial short chain fatty acids.

This shows that you can always manage and maintain healthy gut by just bringing in some lifestyle modifications like healthy eating and daily physical exercise.
